WEIGHT

The shipping weight is 5100 pounds.  My reference does not indicate the weight of any of the usual options.  Most Power Wagons were equipped with heavier springs and larger wheels and tires to provide a Gross Vehicle Weight of 8700 pounds.  This would have added several hundred pounds to the shipping weight.  Many of these trucks were equipped with the optional winch and requisite power take-off, again adding several hundred pounds.  Some trucks have been modified with larger engines and other equipment to make them more usable.  In discussions among knowledgeable Power Wagon owners concerning the requirements for selecting a trailer to haul a Power Wagon, the maximum estimated weight for a typically equipped, ready to drive truck with a full fuel tank and miscellaneous tools is 6,500 pounds.  Generally, the actual weight of a truck with all personal items removed for shipping will be about 5,700 pounds.
