WC-52 Bows
I do not see where any of your bow supports have been cut off. The bows fit into the shallow, rectangular pockets at the extreme front and rear corners of each side and into a similar rectangular pocket at the middle of each side. Here's a right rear corner view of one of my late series WC-51's.
Seat Back pivot Fitting/bracket for ?? Bow pocket in corner
The folding back for the troop seats pivots on the fitting that is about 1/3 of the way from the corners.
My TM's for the WC-51/52 and the WC-62/63 do not show any details for the top assembly. The three additional fittings such as that shown near the corner bow pocket may be for a piece that pivots up to support the backs of the troop seats when they are raised.
My early series WC-52 has the bow pockets and the troop seat back pivots but does not have the other fittings. Those fittings may not have been used in the early series or they may have been omitted in the restoration of the bed.
The details of the troop seat back hinges and the placement of the bows is shown here on my early series WC-52.
Congratulations on having the metal protectors on the inner bed sides for preventing abrasion by the tires. Those are not on my late series WC-51 but are on my very complete late series parts truck.
On another thread you asked to see the cover for the right front bed compartment. Here it is. It is the same on my WC-62.
The one on my early series WC-52 does not have the tab that is bolted to the right front bow pocket.
Hope this helps.

I just found another of your posts asking about cutting off the piece along the top of the bed so you can replace the wood. No! The wood fits into the channel formed by the lower bed and the top piece that has all the fittings described above. That channel is clearly shown in your picture.
